Nowadays, many areas in Thailand are facedwith the worstdrought due to the climate change. Tra Maekrua, TV360°, News Family (ครอบครัวข่าว) therefore held the activity to restore the forest at Phuphan National Park and Lotus Memorial Park, Sakon Nakhon. The activity was led by Mr. Arsawin Khanchanawisittaphol, Executive of Chuew Huad Co., Ltd. and Tra Maekrua Co., Ltd., and Mr. Taninwat Pattanaveerakun (Host of TV 360°), CEO of 360 Entertainment Co., Ltd. Both of them value the forest restoration that could benefit the wildlife in National Park. Significantly, this activity aimed to increase the awareness of forest conservation in citizens and organizations in this area. This purpose was relevant to the approach of forest planning based on the guidance of His Majesty King Rama IX. It was said, “When the forest is abundant, the wildlife can survive. When the wildlife can survive, the people also can survive. They are all related to each other.” (เมื่อป่าสมบูรณ์สัตว์ก็อยู่ได้ เมื่อสัตว์อยู่ได้ คนก็อยู่ได้ มันเป็นสิ่งที่สัมพันธ์กัน)
Mr. Arsawin had a vision for the rising temperatures at the present time that can amplify drought effects. He thought that the cause of the global warming might be that people trespassed on the forest, and the deforestation was increasing. Therefore, the climate has unseasonably changed, effecting the ecosystem, and the forest that is the water source and important for the living. The forest nowadays is gradually destroyed by the trespassing. The forest is like our life, and is counted as the water source. It is the beginning of everything.
This activity was to lead a news fan club of TV360° to experience the real plantation, such as planting Siamese rosewood trees, making salt licks for wildlife, enjoying the beautiful nature of Lotus Memorial Park, and urging the local citizens to realize the environmental issue. Besides, there were other amusing activities such as the healthy cooking competition, and the entertainments from many actors and newscasters. The other good activity was to distribute the drought prevention tools, supported by Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
